We’re thrilled to say that MUUSH is now live for sale online, and soon in your local bars, restaurants, cafes and more.
Both Matt and I (Dan) had been feeling a significant gap in the market for a while. I’ve been on a sober journey for the last year. Since embarking on that journey I’ve noticed my drink options when I’m out and about are fairly limited. They’re certainly better than they once were. With a plethora of non-acholic beers and spirits being launched over the last few years, you’ll struggle to find a venue in London which doesnt have a non-acholic alternative to booze. But what if you dont want a lucky saint or a guinness zero? You’re often left with a lime and soda, a sugar-filled canned drink, or something similar. Unhealthy or uninspiring. It leaves you feeling like a second class citizen. That because I don’t want to drink my night out shouldnt feel special.
We knew there was something missing. But what could fill the gap. We’d been seeing the growth of the kombucha market, CBD market and similar markets growing, but those were pretty saturated, and the flavours are often more suited to specific palates.
We started exploring functional mushrooms which had seen a huge emergence with tinctures, powders and coffees. The flavours are often overpowering, or too sweet. So we had the idea to create our first product range: MUUSH elixirs. A high concentrate mix of fruits, roots, botanicals and functional mushrooms with added fibre and vitamins. Not only do they taste great, they’re low in sugar, have no additives, and come with various health benefits like improved focus, concentration and energy. They’re designed to be consumed with cold soda water as an afternoon tipple, hot water as a tea on a cold day, or as a cocktail alcoholic or non-alcohlic for a celebration.
We’re exploring many exciting partnership opportunities at the moment, but if you’re interested in partnering with us we’d love to hear from you.
miniMUUSH
From our experience of owning a bar we were also very aware of the problems in the kids drinks space. Some household brand soft drinks companies have up to 35g of sugar in a 330ml can. An adults max sugar intake per day is 25g and of 7 shouldnt have more than 12g per day, so in some cases they have triple the sugar allowance. No wonder they get hyper! Ok but what about diet drinks? Lots of diet drinks have ingredients like aspartame and acesulfame K. Research is now emerging about potential links with these addiditves to cancer, hormone issues and pregnancy problems. This got us thinking there really needs to be an alternative in the kids space, that tastes great, but gives kids a healthier alternative. So in the coming months we’ll be launching miniMUUSH. We’ve adapted the adult version for kids tastes and mixed in lightly sparkling water. This will be launching later this year.
